Inequality
Distributional strain and material disparity form the index’s largest declared contribution.
Age Old Research · Public canonical work
The digital companion to The Thermodynamics of Political Entropy by Andrew Eppler. The book is the argument. This application is the instrument.
The research instrument
PEI organizes inequality, institutional performance, conflict, energy, information, and environmental conditions into a transparent weighted index. It is designed for inspection, teaching, dataset connection, and research—not as a substitute for political judgment.
The supplied v17 source build is now available here as a browser application. It joins the monitoring board, calculator, comparison and scenario tools, Academy materials, research adapters, pitch, and the manuscript content included in the package.
System architecture
The weighting is explicit: 25% inequality, 20% institutions, 20% conflict, 15% energy, 10% information, and 10% environment.
Distributional strain and material disparity form the index’s largest declared contribution.
Institutional capacity, legitimacy, and performance contribute one fifth of the composite score.
Violence, instability, and conflict pressure carry an equal one-fifth weighting.
Energy availability and system pressure connect material throughput to political stability.
Information conditions account for signal quality, trust, access, and systemic distortion.
Environmental pressure supplies the final declared tenth of the canonical index.
Controlled progression
The application separates explanation, measurement, teaching, and dataset extension while preserving one canonical formula.
Inspect the six-dimension PEI board and optionally refresh four channels with available World Bank overlays.
Read the front matter and Chapters 1–16 included in this uploaded build of The Thermodynamics of Political Entropy.
Use instructor-led curriculum, diagrams, laboratories, and guided discussion.
Connect live or static series through documented Adapter Manifests without changing the canonical work.
Canonical-work boundary
Researchers may run the application, cite it, and connect datasets. The formula, phase bands, book, and official application remain canonical works controlled by Age Old LLC. Forking is a technical GitHub feature and does not grant permission to modify or rebrand the official work.
This is the public canonical repository for the monitor, manuscript reader, Academy, adapter system, and research materials. Its citation file, trademarks, contribution rules, and license define how the work may be used and extended.
Research participation
The open contribution path centers on dataset adapters, reproducibility, citation, teaching, and documented research use.
