Project Elysium Tube

An 18-kilometer rotating tubular habitat developed through conventional vehicle engineering, robotic construction, and an experimentally isolated Resonance/QGD research program.

The governing architecture

A habitat that must survive its most speculative system being absent.

Project Elysium treats the habitat as a configuration-controlled vehicle, not an illustration. Its current controlled whole-vehicle mass basis is ELY-MASS-E1: 224.76 million metric tonnes.

The habitat must remain habitable, structurally stable, maneuverable, and recoverable with every QGD sector removed, inhibited, unpowered, or failed. Conventional systems retain all safety authority.

System architecture

Close the conventional vehicle first.

The controlled baseline advances in a fixed closure order. Robotics and QGD remain independent experimental tracks rather than shortcuts around unresolved vehicle engineering.

01

Engineering spine

Requirements, interfaces, mass properties, decision records, verification evidence, hazards, and configuration control.

02

Reference module

A 150-meter module for pressure networks, walls, doors, penetrations, life support, and measurable test articles.

03

Rotation & momentum

Artificial-gravity targets, spin-up, braking, momentum exchange, stability, and fault recovery.

04

Mission envelope

Conventional propulsion, power, thermal control, shielding, navigation, maneuvering, and recovery authority.

05

Robotic construction

Space-resource handling, assembly, inspection, repair, and construction sequences developed as a separate track.

06

Resonance/QGD research

An isolated experimental program whose claims must pass matched-null, sign-reversal, conservation, and independent-replication gates.

Controlled progression

Four closures before mission claims.

Current work remains at G0: baseline integrity. The sequence keeps assumptions visible and prevents downstream models from outrunning their evidence.

  1. 01

    Control the spine

Stabilize requirements, mass basis, interfaces, risks, decisions, and evidence configuration.

  2. 02

    Close the reference module

Resolve the representative pressure network and structure through reproducible analysis and test planning.

  3. 03

    Close rotation

Establish momentum, braking, stability, and artificial-gravity envelopes using conventional systems.

  4. 04

    Close the mission envelope

Demonstrate propulsion, shielding, energy, maneuvering, and recovery without relying on QGD.

Non-negotiable boundary

QGD is research-only until the evidence changes.

No Resonance/QGD or HyperTear effect may carry structural, shielding, retention, propulsion, braking, or momentum-management authority. The research track must remain isolated until SI-observable results survive matched-null controls, sign reversal, conservation accounting, and independent replication.
